NCAS-M Researchers Awarded National Geographic Grant for Air Pollution Mapping Program Serving Black Students with Disabilities in Anacostia
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NCAS-M researchers at Howard University have been awarded $40,000 from the National Geographic Society to expand MapCraft: A Hybrid Analog and Digital Educational Tool for Middle and High School Students, a program that teaches students with disabilities how to explore air pollution and other environmental conditions in their communities through mapping.
Two NCAS-M Scholars Present Research at 2026 AMS Madison Summit
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The summit brought together researchers, students, forecasters, and other professionals from across the weather, water, and climate community for several concurrent conferences covering topics including mountain meteorology, severe local storms, numerical weather prediction, cloud physics, atmospheric radiation, and artificial intelligence applications in the atmospheric sciences.
