Howard University Beltsville Campus Hosts Drone Academy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On July 24, 2026, the Howard University Beltsville Research Campus welcomed approximately 30–40 students, faculty, and staff affiliated with the Howard University Drone Academy for a day of exploration, learning, and hands-on flight activities.

Participants toured the HU–Beltsville facilities, where they learned about the research and resources that support the university’s atmospheric and environmental science programs. Following the tour, students and faculty conducted drone flights on the campus grounds, giving participants an opportunity to apply drone technology in a research setting while strengthening practical flight skills.

The visit highlighted the growing role of unmanned aerial systems in scientific research and education while fostering collaboration across Howard University’s academic and research communities.
