AI Hallucinations and What To Do About Them

Upcoming Seminar: Fisheries Integrated Modeling System
Title: Priorities of the Fisheries Integrated Modeling System and How You Can Contribute
Date: April 2, 2026
Time: 3:00–4:00 p.m. ET / 12:00–1:00 p.m. PT
Presenter Kelli F. Johnson, Project Lead of the Fisheries Integrated Modeling System in NOAA’s National Stock Assessment Program, will discuss current priorities for the Fisheries Integrated Modeling System (FIMS) and ways participants can contribute. Seminar keywords include open source, population dynamics, and stock assessment.

Wiley Training: AI Tools for Writing and Research
Date: March 31, 2026
Time: 9:00–10:00 a.m. ET
This session will provide an overview of artificial intelligence and its applications in research and writing, including generative AI tools, evaluation of AI tools, free online resources, and the future of AI in scientific publishing. A Q&A session will follow, and registrants will receive a recording if they are unable to attend live.
Mindfulness Craft Hour
Date: April 2, 2026
Time: 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
Location: NOAA Library, SSMC3 Floor 2, Silver Spring
Organized by the OAR Wellness Council, the Mindfulness Craft Hour invites participants to build community and practice mindfulness through crafting. The event takes place every three weeks on Thursdays and is open to all personnel, including NOAA affiliates, interns, fellows, and volunteers.
