Two NCAS-M Fellows Selected for the 2026 NOAA EPP Graduate Fellowship Program

Washington, D.C. – NCAS-M is proud to announce that two of its graduate fellows — Myah Rather of Howard University and Liam Sheji of the University at Albany, SUNY — have been selected for the highly competitive 2026 NOAA Educational Partnership Program (EPP) Graduate Fellowship Program.

The NOAA EPP Graduate Fellowship Program offers outstanding doctoral students from NOAA Cooperative Science Centers the opportunity to spend 12 months conducting research alongside scientists and mentors at NOAA laboratories and offices across the nation. The fellowship strengthens the nation’s environmental workforce through advanced research, professional development, and leadership experiences in NOAA mission areas.

Beginning July 1, 2026, both fellows will be embedded at NOAA facilities, conducting research under the guidance of NOAA mentors and contributing to projects that advance the agency’s environmental and weather-related missions.

“We are incredibly proud of our fellows for earning this prestigious recognition,” said Sen Chiao, NCAS-M Director. “Their selection reflects both their academic excellence and their commitment to advancing atmospheric, environmental, and Earth system sciences. We look forward to seeing the impact of their contributions during their fellowship year at NOAA.”
