NCAS-M Student and Staff Engage in Community Based Research

NCAS-M Ph.D. student Rebekah Hackett and NCAS-M Deputy Director Terri Adams Ph.D. spoke at City Springs Elementary/Middle School on Tuesday May 20th.

Hackett and Adams talked about NOAA and air quality, as part of the launch of their air quality/environmental science work with the school. Both were amazed by the level of knowledge of the students and their interest in air quality and other environmental issues.

Some students will take home indoor air quality monitors this summer, and will report their findings when they return in the fall. Hackett and Adams will also do a training with the teachers in August and continue to work with the students in the fall.
