Researchers affiliated with NCAS-M continue to make impactful contributions across their disciplines.
A recent study by NCAS-M researchers titled “Vertical Profiling of Canadian Wildfire Smoke in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor – Interactions with the Planetary Boundary Layer and Impact on Surface Air Quality” showcases the use of commercial ceilometers to distinguish wildfire smoke plumes from local haze. The preprint has been published in the European Geophysical Union’s Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (AMT), and is expected to be accepted soon.
In another publication, NCAS-M researcher Dr. Rodolfo Hernandez Perez led the authorship of “Call for Multilingual Inclusiveness in Science and Disaster Research and Contexts Studies,” a collaborative research note featuring contributions from NCAS-M colleagues, published in the Journal of Disaster Studies (Penn Press). This manuscript addresses the multiple challenges and gaps in scientific multilingual scientific production, particularly within the fields of disaster studies and communication.
These publications reflect NCAS-M’s commitment to advancing environmental and inclusive science.
